Caribbean Cruises - Things To Know

One of the most important things when you plan for a cruise is make your mind up where you want to go. There are always many choices for you to choose from - Caribbean, Alaska and The Mediterranean - and each has its attractions and draw for different people. If you are a first time cruiser, one of the easiest choices would be the Caribbean regions.

The Caribbean is an exciting place to be. Younger crowds will like the beach volleyballs, snorkeling, hiking and bargain basement priced shopping over here. But if you are after some quiet moments with your partner, there are also less crowded spots such as quiet cove and isolated beaches.

Most Caribbean cruises run from a short three days to longer seven night’s packages.

There are two typical itineraries – Eastern and Western to the Caribbean. If you are taking the Eastern Caribbean itineraries, then you will set sail from Florida, make several stops to islands such as St. Thomas, St. Maarten (just to name a few) before ending at the Bahamas. Western Caribbean itineraries on the other hand, will bring you from Florida to Cayman Islands and other notable isle in the Caribbean such as Cozumel, Costa Maya and Puerto Rico.

Caribbean sailing seasons starts from January each year to end of spring-break period. If you want to find some cheap Caribbean good deals, then you should choose off season cruising from September to the third week of December. The first two weeks of January, April, May and June also offers some of the best bargains for fall cruise.

If you are unable to make it during the shoulder season, remember to book early as most of the cruise packages will be snapped up fast during the school holidays and Christmas period.
